Here’s to fair winds and following seas!

The superstitions surrounding these spiced and sticky buns baked on Good Friday go back to the 12th century.

One tale tells of how hot cross buns being baked on this day could protect sailors from shipwreck whilst at sea.

We adorned our buns with anchors and headed to the beach with a freshly baked batch.
