Back in May we journeyed over to California to photograph some of our new ‘Dare to Dream’ collection.

The collection was inspired by vintage Americana. Think desert hues, dusty roads and the spirit of freedom on the open road that the American desert evokes. With this in mind there was only one place for it … Joshua Tree. A magnet for life's wanderers and a place that dances to the beat of its own drum.

We flew into the pastel oasis that is Palm Springs, rented a pick-up truck and headed straight out into the High Desert.

We booked the most unique airbnb to use as a base on our trip that we just had to share with you. We knew we would be spending the days scouting for photoshoot locations and hiking the Joshua Tree National Park and so ‘Juniper Moon Sanctuary’ in the heart of Yucca Valley was the perfect spot.

As soon as we walked through the cabin’s door we clocked the vintage copy of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours vinyl perched on the record player and knew we had chosen the right place….or maybe it had chosen us.

It was such a magical place that exuded 70s charm, a cactus in every corner and just right amount of witchy. Outside there was a study that looked straight out of a Wes Anderson movie and a hidden outdoor bathtub cradled underneath a juniper tree.

Laid in the tub amongst the bows, the warm desert wind would blow through the branches, perfuming the evening air. It was magical.

After busy days of taking photos in the heat of the desert we retreated back to the sanctuary of the cabin’s porch, put Fleetwood Mac on the record player and watched the rose gold sun melt behind the silhouettes of Joshua trees in the garden.

It was a truly bewitching place…we didn’t want to leave!
